Meet Klaypots

Meet Klaypots

By Jana Lepojevic

When Karina first started her pottery hobby in 2016, she had no idea it would lead to her opening her own pottery studio. Her vision? To create a small and intimate space where people feel a sense of belonging, calmness and creativity.

Karina’s top priority was to make the studio feel welcoming. So, armed with her interior design background, she created a space that was cosy but not cramped and had an energising yet lightly rustic vibe for her students.

With her love for teaching and connecting with others, Karina always makes sure to say hi and get to know everyone who walks through her door. This care for her students and their pottery journey shines through in Karina’s business and is something she always envisioned when dreaming about her future studio.

Pop into Karina’s bright and down-to-earth studio in Crows Nest and expect to feel welcome, inspired and supported from the moment you pick up your first piece of clay to the moment you admire your finished piece.

Pottery should be your new favourite hobby…

“If you’re looking to be challenged and be more creative, and if so, you should definitely try out a class at the studio!”

Pottery can help you slow down…

“If you have a busy mind like I have, then pottery will help you. When you’re working with clay it's difficult to think about anything else—I love those quieter moments in my week.”

You’ll leave my workshop feeling…

“Creative, calm and confident—it’s empowering learning something new even if you aren’t great at it on the first try.”

The best lesson I’ve learnt from a student is…

“To be really proud of what I have achieved. Things took off for me pretty quickly and within a year my whole life changed. It’s a lot to get used to and I often have students and customers come into the studio and say that I should be proud and they offer a lot of support—it’s really kind.”

We love supporting local…

“We’ve collaborated with Studio Pilates in Crows Nest and Neutral Bay, that was a fun experience as we gave away vouchers for pilates and pottery sessions. I’ve also recently started working with Casa Fine Foods, another local business catering for private parties.”
